Justin Beller

for District 1

Time for a Runoff!

Thank you to everyone who showed up and voted in the May 1st election.  Justin ended up receiving over 40% of votes cast in District 1, which is an amazing turnout and significantly more than any of the other candidates received!

However, for this race we are headed to a runoff, as the winner needs to collect more than 50% of total votes cast.

Now is a great time to join our campaign in whatever way you can.  We are committed to District 1, and to finishing strong.  We’ll have more details to follow about the Runoff Election. So, make sure to follow along with us on social media, and check back here for updates.

Justin is a native Arkansan that has lived and worked in Collin County since 2005.

He and his wife Amanda moved to McKinney in 2012 with their children Lane (14) and Caroline (12). Justin is a community banker for Independent Financial in McKinney and Amanda is a high school teacher at Lovejoy ISD.

The couple own a home in District 1 and spend the majority of their time and energy in their community. Justin has extensive volunteer and board experience through various nonprofit organizations in the area and is looking to continue that service as a candidate for McKinney District 1.

Vision for District 1

  • Provide experienced and sensible leadership to deal with complex issues. Justin has a long history of community participation on boards including the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, the McKinney Housing Authority, and numerous other leadership roles. This experience is invaluable to understanding and solving the issues that we face and will face as a community.

  • Value the community and put the work in to help build a better one. This requires tangibles such as an improved infrastructure, more affordable housing, and expanded public transportation options. But it also requires relationships and understanding and working to see others’ perspective.

  • Work towards a sustainable community that values everyone. McKinney Council District 1 is the most unique district in the city. From large employers to historic sites, it is one of the most diverse areas from a land use and demographic perspective. Navigating growth while protecting what is important will require effort from everyone to build a community that works for everyone.
